Okay the kinect price is going to be 150 bucks and will include a game called kinect adventures. Awesome enough I guess. But what really caught my attention is the new entry level Xbox 360 that is coming out with the amazing price tag of $200 bucks. Its going to have onboard 4GB of flash storage and allow you save games and I guess DLC to usb sticks. This could actually be a more viable solution for us Lan Centers, I’ll definitely be getting one to put it through its paces to see how it stacks up. This could actually allow you to sell USB sticks at your game center for your 360 players to keep their account info and saved games with them. I got all this information from this article over on Ars Technica

Well, it looks like Sony trying its damnedest to ensure the evolution of PS3 could pay off to Game Centers in a big way. Imagine sitting in a PS3 gaming suite where you are immersed in the 3D of a game like Kill Zone. Well maybe we won’t get Kill Zone but the PS3 already supports stereoscopic 3D games and it will soon support 3D Blu-Rays. 3D gaming is going to be the future and Sony is working its arse off to be at the head of the pack. Sony is planning a firmware update for September that will bring support to 3d Blu-Rays.
Sony already made Blu-Ray the HD format over HD-DVD so with its backing on ensuring the 3D market takes off, time will only tell the goodies it will have in store for us. Personally, I think this as whole will be a very lucrative selling point for Game Centers because, the equipment required for this setup to work is going to be a tad bit more then your average consumer will be able to obtain easily. I’ll personally be keeping up with the 3d evolution, and keep everyone informed of its possible applications to Game Center Owners.

When I started my first business with my wife several years ago I had no idea where to start. I had an idea and the ambition to make it a reality but as for the business end of things I was lost. So I started looking for a book that could give me a general scope of things to to expect and how to handle them. That’s when I came across Small Time Operator: How to Start Your Own Business, Keep Your Books, Pay Your Taxes, and Stay Out of Trouble!
while reading Steve Pavlina’s Blog (This guy’s blog is great btw, a little unorthodox on his thinking but his advice is pretty damned sound)

Okay we are on day 2 of the 30 day Game Center Startup guide. If you read Day 1: Game Center Market/Demographic Research you should be well on your way to researching your demographic on the area you propose to setup your Game Center.

I’m an avid starcraft fan. Honestly it was one of the first RTS’s I started out on. Without this game I would have NEVER gotten fascinated with LAN play games. Hence, this website would have never existed without it.
So I like to keep up to date with Starcraft 2 news, and apparently Bit-tech.com got an interview Frank Pearce so I thought I would post it for all to see here.

Before starting a Game Center, market research is a very important step. You don’t want to setup a 20 station Game Center in Billy Bob, Arkansas with a population of only 435 people and all of those people are between the ages of 72-85. I’m not saying that geriatric customers can’t be profitable but I don’t think if your not selling heart medication and having seniors early bird buffets that’s going to be a reality using the Game Center Business Model.
