An interesting Starcraft 2 interview! WTF he just say?

I’m an avid starcraft fan.  Honestly it was one of the first RTS’s I started out on.  Without this game I would have NEVER gotten fascinated with LAN play games.  Hence, this website would have never existed without it.

So I like to keep up to date with Starcraft 2 news, and apparently Bit-tech.com got an interview Frank Pearce so I thought I would post it for all to see here.

Now, I’m dissappointed as hell with this game.  I’m in the beta, the game itself is great. (So don’t take this out of context you damn fanboys, this is from a GCO’s point of view so if you wanna defend a game that is excluding what made it popular in the first place go the hell ahead.  I will delete your post)

This game is going without LAN Play and it pisses me off.  Some of my fondest memories of gaming is me and my friends getting a crap load of computers together to play this game in lan.  In fact we started with only 2 copies of a legitimate copy of the Original Starcraft (No broodwar at the time).  With 16 -20 people getting together it quickly rose to 20 people having legit copies. Hrm, maybe some of us that got to play the lan version bought the entire game because we wanted to hone our skills on our own.  And the only way to do that outside of a lan party, yeap you got it, Battle.net.  I’ve noticed ever since Activision “merged” with blizzard its about the bottom line  and not the gamers.  Sorry blizzard with your new higher ups making you forget what the hell made you so great in the first place your quickly losing ground with me. But, as a business owners I know the fanbase an IP like that carries so, game center’s will be carrying it.

Blizzard was once a great company but once a few money hungry execs come along, they change what was once a community serving publisher into something very, not so horribly community serving.  Yeah I’m angry, and if I was Activision-Blizzard and knew I had a title that was GUARANTEED to take off, I probably couldn’t resist doing the same.
