Seasonal Depression
« on: February 06, 2010, 05:38:50 AM »
I hate to blame a lot of my problems on this (and i used to say it doesnt exist) but as i get older i realize that its there. The gloomieness of the season here in Massachusetts really sets it off. No sunlight (and i work at night), my job, food, money, bills all seem to be worse (thanks a lot christmas) and sometimes even roomates tend to get on my nerves and im a verry passive and calm guy.

This kind of lead me to this realization that I cant work as an office monkey forever, this job will last a little while longer and as i start to save for this lan center idea i am having ill be doing much of my work on it at night while working (nothing like getting paid to work on your potential future).

Anyway I was posting more to see your views on Seasonal Depression, does it effect you? How?

I have no idea what I think. I have never been in that state of mind. I like to believe that knowledge is half the battle, so knowing that people get like this... I try to counter that with putting my mind somewhere else!

Just a little discussion sparked in the office and i figured i would spread it around, see if anyone else thought it wasnt around. In the NE here its all over the place, runs rampant like a plague. I dont let it get me down usually but after nothing but clouds and snow for days and the bitter cold it can get to ya.

I know people who have moved from here to Florida and they havent been happier, guess its just winter time blues.

That will do it. My aunt says the same thing, when it finally clears up and its at least not bitter cold she still takes it out. Its funny, she kinda goes stir crazy without it.

My mother, father, brothers (one past away in a motorcycle accident) and me all ride motorcycles.  My picture is me and my mom.

Its only thing I do that doesn't make me a complete geek.  Rofl, its funny when I hang out with my motorcycle friends and I start talking about some overclocking I did on a Gaming Computer to get more staying power out of my machine and they just look at me with blank stares.

Oh well.

Same here, they know though. Its not like its a shock to talk about some tech when the things your riding on are just as complicated at times lol. Sorry about your loss.

At least your out there, and you get to do something you (hopefully) love doing. You lucky devil you.
