I got it worked out late last night.

The windows firewall had CCP set up to only work on public networks. Had to change that then restart. We have 1 client PC that we are loading some new games on and testing out. Once this one is running with out too many problems we'll start the back up and cloning/ghosting the rest of the PC's.

The problem is back. I updated drivers, messed with IP addresses, default gateways, ect. When Cyber Cafe Pro Launches it adds an extra IP address to the PC and goes on an unidentified network that happens to be PUBLIC. WELL CCP doesn't run on public networks so it doesn't launch games or the internet or anything else for that matter. I'm approaching my wits end which isn't too long anyway. I've sent a ticket in and asked on their forums so far no response from either.

If the problem is changing an IP or the way the router is set up all I know is that Smartlaunch was/is working fine for a few more days anyway.

If CCP is automatically assigning a different network and not proxying the traffic through itself, you may need to have some changes made to the network environment.  You could have the Cybercafe (server/client) environment on a separate (optional) network if your router/firewall supports it.  Or if you have layer 3 managed switches you can create a VLAN with routable IP's to forward all traffic to your normal internal network...but it sounds like maybe this is just an mis-configured or automatic setting in CCP server.  I'm not familiar with the product yet...but could be default to give "automatic" separation between customer network and internal business network to protect those setting up their product.

Do all of the CCP clients have the same network address (i.e. 192.168.5.X with a class C 255.255.255.0 subnet)?  Can you show the IP information on here of the server and clients.  Maybe I can assist with the network troubleshooting.

You could also PM me the info if you don't want to post in open forum.

Thanks.

With a little more testing and Deeds tech/phone skills we found that the CCP client program is changing the default gateway no matter what the settings are before launching it. Once it launches if I have desktop control it can be changed and the program will start working. I haven't found the solution yet.

Thank you MrFurious for telling me to check the bandwidth monitoring and advanced options under the accounts been banging my head on my desk for 3 days with this one.

Now a sigh of relief til the next problem pops up.

I remember when I started learning the ins and outs of smartlaunch and just when I'd gotten the hang of it they pull the fee crap. Time to start over with this one.

Thanks again MrF!

So I've got the client and server up and running launching all games and steam properly.

I'm running the client and allowing desktop access. I've already locked the start menu, disabled the right click, disabled the all programs tab, locked my computer, locked control panel, disable the music and games tabs, and took away the search bar.  As far as I can tell the only thing they have access to when logged in to CCP is the desktop and all that's on there now are shortcuts to games and their launchers.

I'm looking to LOCK all of the desktop icons in place I've seen some people on line edit the registry or use different third party programs to accomplish this. I don't want to have to recreate shortcuts every day.

After our all nighter Saturday this set up will be distributed to all of the other PC's.

Are your PC's running on a domain...or workgroup mode?

You could easily do this with Group Policy in AD with redirected desktop and user policies for admin templates...but I wasn't sure that was an option in your environment.

Putting CCP on two stations to test at our ALL NIGHTER tomorrow. I've logged in a couple of times and played/launched different games. I've got the browser settings that ask for a password before any downloads, everything seems locked down well enough, and I've got a good clean image of the PC so that I can redistribute it if needed.

CCP seems to load games faster than Smartlaunch and the client/server interaction seems smoother to me as well.

Continuing our change over this morning. I only have a few PC's to do. I already have a record of all customers with time that we will transfer when signing them in to CCP for the first time. It's been a rather smooth change with very few issues once we got all the kinks worked out.
