Like most small businesses, there is a large amount of failure. Some due to bad ownership, others due to bad luck. Sometimes both.  After the usual 1-year marker that weeds out most businesses, LAN centers face an additional hurdle in the 24-36 month time frame, when their hardware starts to underperform.  If you don't plan for it, you will experience a gradual downward spiral that loses you your customer base and ends with a crash in red ink.

Just got back from a lengthy visit with T3. The main hit for them seemed to be location. They have great PC's - 6 years old and JUST now starting to have trouble with new games, but are WAY out on the road to nowhere with nothing to help draw visitors to them.

Location can definitely effect all aspects of your business.

They were around for 6 - 7 years, did they change locations?

Jiggawatts was one of the first places that I saw when searching for other centers.

About 3 or so years ago they moved from Jasper, GA up the road to Marble Hill. The area was heavily employed by the construction industry and was hit hard when the housing/construction market tumbled.

Jiggawatts, from what I could gather after reading various posts, was sold to help cover the owner's mother's medical bills after passing away suddenly. I really like their set up and layout.

AVDad is correct, they closed due to family issues, the business itself is doing pretty good.  They managed to find a buyer, who is just now bringing the place back online.  We keep close tabs on them, we helped build the place!  The look of their interior is quite cool.  The father of the original owners is a carpenter among other things and helped them really make the place look nice. Beautiful town up there too.
