My new guilty addiction: Borderlands
« on: January 25, 2010, 04:45:28 AM »
Borderlands.  You guys played this yet.  I really thought okay RPS (Role Playing Shooter)  its a fallout want to be.  But I was greatly enthralled with the PC version althou I do have a hard time getting into multiplayer games.  The solo by itself is a treat.  I'll be honest I'm lillith because she is insanely over powered if you use her phase-walk right.

But the game's like if you took Fallout, Call of Duty, and Team Fortress 2 and mashed them up together.  Borderlands would be the result.  I like it and I've already spent 50 hours on the first play through.

Sadly thou at one of the Centers I regularly visit they don't get a whole lot of LAN Play.  Everyone is doing MW2, or and RTS of some sort.  I think this game will slowly gain a huge following once the shininess of MW2, and LF2 wear off.  Mainly because this game has ALOT to offer.

I played it when it came out, I had a hard time getting into it. I have a hard time with games like that, it takes too long to really get going in the game and I lose ALL traction going into it. I HATED fallout 3 when I first started playing, and then watched a friend after he was about 10 hours in, and realized I had to just clamp down and rough it out. From what I understand, I will have to do the same here too! :(

That game was brilliant.

It's practicly a less in depth, pickup Fallout 3. Which is what I loved about it. I mean clearly it wasn't a HUGE hit, the DLC for it was kinda lacking when it launched. But for what you were getting it did it quite well. I was a huge fan myself when it came out (Xbox 360) and even leading up I had this pre-ordered before my MW2 and actually I still have this and cashed in my MW2 for credit towards the new Street Fighter. MW2 was good in its own way but it felt too much like a remake, OH! and the lame suicide bomb glitch made me never want to play again... and i played the first one non-stop.

Just goes to show you what gems are out there when your "waiting in between titles" as i like to call it.

Oh yea, lol. Just google "modern warfare 2 exploit javelin". It pretty much ruined the game for me at that point. Its still a great game and loads of fun (just as the first one was for me) but I just didnt see the point when thats all anyone was doing at that time.

When more than 1 person is playing it...they don't change games for the rest of the day. I have seen several guys come in buy the pass and play it all day. Excellent game I've had customers tell me after playing it here they buy this title and all play together online.

The Lan and online games with up to 4 players is awesome split screen is so/so with me. The weapons are so numerous and I like the fact that I can play for hours and get different shields, grenade attributes, guns, and next time I play I'll find all new ones. I also like being able to run enemies over...anything that goes splat is a win for me.

lol. Yeh, I played it for a couple minutes when I went to my parents. My brother was renting the game. I enjoyed it, but have not picked it up yet. I am waiting for price to go down... I am stingy sometimes. I have bigger things I would like to spend my spare cash on. Like starting a GC, lol.
