I meant, the time it took for me to see it mentioned (on the steam forums maybe) to finding out it was this website.  SALC is fine, unless you have no idea its referring to a website at all.  :)

A)  Figuring out what SALC meant took way too much time.

B)  I had no trouble setting up Truecafe to run normal "cdkeyless" games like WoW if the cdkey dropdown is left blank.  The main sticking points for me are the lack of pricing options you either have to make several pricing packages (Daypass (Monday), Daypass (Tuesday), and keep switching manually)  or just stick to hourly rates with discounts at various times.  It also charges by session.  So even if you setup first hour $3, 2 hours $5, 5 hours $9... the instant they hit the logout button, the current session ends, pricing restarts from $3 an hour (however, you can disable the logout button and manually move them from terminal to terminal, etc)  I guess in reality if you disable logout and end sessions manually, you can effect a daypass by setting up pricing to max out your daypass.

Also, Truecafe client doesn't replace the taskbar, you can hide it and the desktop but then you can't see anything...  So you would have to come up with some idea on a replacement taskbar and systray (i personally need to hide a few tray icons for my best setup).

1. It's awesome to number things in a post.
2. Thanks for explaining your problems with TrueCafe.
3. Still lots of programs that I haven't tried yet.

Cyber Cafe Pro is aware of the 15346 port problem and working to fix it. I tried doing another fix through the host file and it now tells me it can't detect a connection at all. So I'm trying to be patience and wait until its fixed so we can test it.

True Cafe is the only thing even close (but still incomplete) that we have tried. I'll give CCP another look once they get it to stop the whole port thing...

So What's everyone's plan? we have what 3 weeks left before we have to have a solution or pay a monthly fee.

I've seen people say True Cafe is workable but not with out it's issues. Plus for 33 licenses its $508.

I've heard people want to crack Smartlaunch 4.1 how many different SL's are there I think my version is 4.1.362 (server) and 4.1.363 (admin and client) I'm not interested in upgrading anything I'd be content keeping what we have and letting the "new" smartlaunch go sit and spin.

I've been checking the SL forums too just keeping up with the latest. I know ALO and several others post there as well.

Currently messing with SL 4.1.115.  I cannot use my old DB so i spent some time this morning setting it up on an extra PC.  Once i have most if not all my configs over, i will setup some games and have a couple machines connect to it.

So far, 4.1.115 email reports don't work with gmail.  Obviously i will be finding larger issues as i go.

There is a crack that works with 4.5, however the person is giving SL a (small) chance of changing their tune before they release it to everyone. So I'd keep exploring options, but don't actually switch for another week or so, we'll see how it goes.

Question is, since i'm not using 4.5, how broken is it?

No stats, no pufs, no remote launch.

I also have a user that is not logged in, but when tries to log in, says he is logged in.  It is just one user and we have no idea what caused it to happen.

john, I've seen that before. If restarting the server doesn't work, you will have to manually edit the database to fix it. Or, delete his account and recreate it for a quick fix.

We know what they broke, what did they fix?  Where do they keep the rlease notes?

Strange that they would move forward without fixing the issues they broke.  PUF's are a pretty big deal, as is remote maintance.

Pretty poor list.  I don't see any bug fixes mentioned.  Funny how they mention improved PUF's, which they actually broke with thier first patch.  I think the newest beta version might fix the PUFs but reports are broken and VNC still not working from what I read.

4.1.115 problems so far.

1) Emailed reports via gmail don't work, this was before they added optional port and SSL auth for gmail.   **Easy fix (probably many), setup a scheduled task to copy reports from c:\program files\Smartlaunch\Server\temporary to your dropbox account**

2) this version doesn't properly hide icons on the tray.  So the client icon (green S) shows up and any other tray icons you might have running, i have 1 program i'm using.  Users cannot interact with the icon (yay) but if you double click on Smartlaunch's icon it will immediately log you out.  If it stays that way, endless hours of amusement will ensue.     The solution to anything will be to double click on green S.

3)  I have yet to test LoL.  At one point, LoL would crash the SL client.  However, something just may have broken in a later version of SL or something in LoL no longer causes the SL Client to crash.   keeping my fingers crossed that that is the case.
