I reviewed this game using the PC version. I wanted to test the viability of the mouse and keyboard with the new cover system. It was a flawless port.

DIY: Make your own Cat5e patch cables

cat5e

This is a money saving tip that I suggest to all Game Center owners.  Learn to make your own patch cables.  Its simple, doesn’t take alot of time and you make cables just as good  and for pennies on the dollar for what they retail for.  You’ll need a RJ-45 crimping tool, and wire strippers (Some times these can actually be built into the RJ Crimping Tool, the one I have does all RJ Modular plugs and has a wire stripper on it).  These can be found at places like radio-shack or home depot for on average 20 bucks. You will need Cat5e cable, and RJ-45 modular plugs. These can be also be found at Radio-Shack or Home Depot.

I could write a long winded post explaining how this done but I found an extremely helpful cat5e patch cable tutorial on lovely ole google.

CYA: Non-Lubricated Sodomy Protection for Lan Center Owners

Lan gaming center legal Protection

Cover Your Ass (CYA) or Cover Your Own Ass (CYOA) describes professional and organizational practices that serve to protect oneself from legal and administrative penalties, criticism, or other punitive measures.

Well I’m not going to define Sodomy for ya, but I’m pretty sure you get the idea I’m trying to get across here.  One of the big things about being a business owner is ensuring you don’t get screwed cause you didn’t take proper precautions. I’m going to list for you 3 of the big things that will help you cover your backside the best you can. I’m not a lawyer, but these steps have definitely helped ensure I was as safe as a business owner can be.

Make a little extra money! Charge it!

?

Bet you thought I meant to charge something on a credit card.   Not at all, actually I meant let them charge their cellphones, laptops, tablet pcs, and their handheld gaming devices.  When I first started out I always had customer that would come to me asking to charge various things for them.  At first I let them charge their stuff for free and then I thought, “Hell this is my electricity and I’m giving it to them for free, screw that”.  Sounds rough but when one day I walked in and I had like 12 different customer devices behind the counter charging away I had enough.
